Staying fit and safe during COVID-19

Holla Trails Classic is postponed but the trails are open and perfect for social distancing!

We are in uncertain times and this means we decided to postpone the Holla Trails Classic, originally scheduled for 5 April 2020. With a potential field of 700 participants plus spectators, the event could be conducive to spreading the virus and with your health as our number one priority we had to make this hard decision. We will announce the new date as soon as it is confirmed.

Having said that, here at Holla Trails, we believe we’re offering probably one of the safest ways to stay fit during the pandemic so Holla Trails will remain open as usual, with the exception of keeping the shop open for our Thursday club nights. Riders are welcome to come and ride on Thursday nights and make use of the honesty box however, our team will be heading home at 4:30pm. We will leave the braai out for you to make use of.

Now what about going out for just a ride or run?

Exercise keeps you healthy and it’s much safer to exercise outdoors than indoors as long as you follow some precautions:

  • Head out with healthy people and avoid large groups
  • Don’t share bottles and snacks
  • Wash your hands (and shower for general hygiene) when you are back
  • Don’t overdo it and be completely exhausted. After your exercise your resistance is not optimal as your body is recovering and the harder you push, the lower your resistance
  • Pay for your permit with Zapper if you can

We have also put extensive measures in place so you can come in to get your permit and coffee in a safe environment. We have trained all our crew, placed sanitisers at the trail head for both staff and patrons, extensive and regular cleaning and sanitising especially on surfaces such as the pin pads and counters, no more handshakes and fist pumps and we ask you to use your Holla reusable cups as much as possible.

Remember it’s about your health, not your fitness so please keep on enjoying our trails!
