Riding Trails

Whether you are an anxious newbie or experienced pro, we hope you enjoy taking your adventure onto our trails.

Tips for enjoying your day

  1. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Especially when introducing new riders or kids to the trails. We have seen many people being put off riding after arriving back shattered because their mates/parents took them for a long ride that they weren’t ready for.
  2. Take some snacks and enough fluids to sustain you longer than you think you will be out (even better, take a picnic, find a cool spot and chill).
  3. If you get lost, go back to the last place you saw an arrow and try again.
  4. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the views.
  5. Join two short trails together instead of doing a huge long route. This keeps you closer to the trailhead than one long route and will have more single track per km.

FAIRVIEW ACCESS:

The process at the gates will work as follows, please read and familiarise yourself with the processes:
All gates require an individual check in and check out for each person. The number of entries and exits need to match at the end of the Holla Trails access time of 18:00. We do have access from 06:00 (first check in) to 17:30 (last check in) and every one needs to be out by 18:00.

Members have access with biometrics and you need to be loaded onto the database at the trailhead first.
Day visitors will receive an access code – please bring a valid ID.
Show your face to the scanner or enter your access code and after a positive ID the turnstile or gate for the mantrap opens.

  • Strawberry Gate Entry for Silver Workshop17 MTB route, Brown run route, entry and exit for the Blue run route: Turnstile for the runners and cyclists and a sliding gate for the bikes. Cyclists park their bike before the sliding gate and while the cyclist passes through the turnstile, the guard opens the sliding gate and the cyclist can pull the bike through.
  • East Gate Exit for Silver Workshop17 route, Blue Roofco MTB route and Brown run route: Runners exit through the turnstile and cyclist use the holding area with two gates. When you enter the holding area and the first gates is closed then the second gate opens. Power failures were an issue with the old system, but the new system has a solar/battery back up in case there is a power failure. In the unlikely scenario that the back-up system fails too, there is an emergency system that locks the first gate and opens the second gate so you will never be locked in.
  • Top Gate Entry for Blue Roofco, Purple , Yellow Gold and Orange MTB routes: Holding area with two gates.
