After an uneventful start to 2020 we were hit by the lockdown that forced us into hibernation. Some spent the lockdown fixing up long over due things at home, others sat for hours on a stationary bike, while others ran a marathon in their backyard. By the end of it we all realised what we had missed the most; the wind in our hair, that morning chill, spotting that rare bird, nailing that jump, (grand)parents riding with their kids and finally beating your mate on a climb. But what we all missed the most was the freedom to go out on an adventure and explore.
It’s very satisfying and motivating to be part of that and I am not alone in this; this goes for everyone in our team and also extends to our riders and runners. Nothing is more motivating than when you’re fixing a bridge early in the morning and the first two riders on the trail spontaneously stop and start helping.
