WildHogs take on Holla and loved it!

Riding a new venue is always a bit intimidating, will I get lost, mugged, break something, stray onto some crazed gun owning farmers land… that kinda stuff always goes through ones mind. It was therefore with great delight, after a few short sms’s with Nic last night (Holla founder) he quickly agreed to take myself and a couple of other Wild Hogs (www.wildhogsmtb.wordpress.com) out on a 50km ride today. What a superb ride it proved to be, with a bit of everything thrown in: long climbs, fast (scary) downhills and some beautiful free flowing sections under the riverine forest canopy. KZN really does have some of the best riding in the world! 4.5 hours later and 58km in the bag we arrived back at Holla with sore legs and big grins. A well earned toasted sandwich and cold beer quickly aided the recovery process. Well done Nic, Holla is onto a good thing, just what we need on the North coast. You proved to be an excellent guide and host and we will certainly be back with families! |

I would like to thank everyone who has made Holla Trails available to mountain bikers. I am from Johannesburg, and come up frequently to Ballito, whenever I am down here I ride out in the sugar cane fields, now that you have marked the routes and created a starting point from where one can meet other riders and ride with, it is excellent, the single track alongside the river is magical. I am once again thankful and grateful, for what you guys have done.

What an awesome setup! Well done and thanks to everyone involved in putting the Holla Trails concept together. I have riden it extensively since it started and love the trails. I dont think i will do any roadie training "on road" again. I have enough trails to train on the MTB and ride the closed road events as a roadie when i choose.
Not cool riding on the roads nowadays to train. I think its criminal to live in the Ballito area, ride a MTB and not sign up with Holla trails. I almost feel guilty with the nominal monthly membership considering a trip to Giba generally costs me R120 in fuel and the entry charge. (no fault of there's obviously) Thanks again, hope this venture grows from strength to strength. |

Guys you have a fantastic set-up. It was such a pleasure being able to take my MTB crazy family to a new venue to ride. Having showers and a great breakfast was worldclass and worth every cent of the membership...well done guys
